Saint Hilaire de Riez: in the heart of the Vendée
Situated between Saint Jean de Monts and Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, Saint Hilaire de Riez is a prime location for holidaymakers.
Le Petit Bec Holiday Village lies a few kilometes from Saint Jean de Monts. Its strategic position is ideal for the many walks and day trips that await discovery in the Vendée. Be prepared to fall in love with this sunny region where the land and sea teem with treasures!
As well as enjoying direct access to the beach, Le Petit Bec Holiday Village is the focus for a wide range of activities. Have fun on the mini-golf course just outside the village or, close to the entrance of the resort, enjoy the Atlantic Toboggan water park, which is sure to make your head spin! Everyone will have a great time here, with the assorted slides guaranteeing a new and exciting experience.
Continue the fun at the Littoral Quad, where you can get to know the region from a new perspective: climb aboard a quad bike and snake along the different circuits on offer - it is sure to be an immense adventure!
Saint Hilaire de Riez hosts street markets throughout the year to the delight of children and grown-ups alike.
Forty kilometres to the north, the picturesque island of Noirmoutier offers a complete change of scenery. Saint-Jean-de-Monts is a friendly, family resort with numerous seaside activities together with the vast marshland known as the Vendée Marais Breton. You can tour the waterways in a skiff or canoe, relishing the soothing calm of this unspoilt countryside and observing the many species of birds that nest here in peace.
Off the coast opposite Saint Hilaire de Riez looms the island of Yeu. Wild and natural, the island is home to a series of paths dotted with idyllic coves where the water is crystal clear. Yeu is only an hour by boat from Fromentine or Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, and the timetable during the holidays means you can spend the day on the island and return in the evening. Let yourself be carried away by Yeu’s family-friendly atmosphere!
Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, situated about fifteen kilometres south of Saint Hilaire de Riez, is a handsome listed seaside resort famous for its sardines. The town has retained the charm and authenticity of a fishing village at the same time as developing tourist activities. The marina in the town centre gives Saint Gilles Croix de Vie its happy and lively atmosphere.
Further south, some forty kilometres from Le Petit Bec Holiday Village, you can discover the numerous activities on offer at Les Sables d’Olonne . This seaside town is a haven for anyone who loves sailing, as well as being home to two casinos. The breakwater is ideal for a family walk along the sandy beach. And every four years, the town vibrates to the rhythm of the Vendée Globe, the famous round-the-world yacht race, which starts and finishes in the port.
Two minutes from Noirmoutier
Noirmoutier, which is just forty kilometres from Saint Hilaire de Riez, can be reached by road either via the bridge connecting the island to Fromentine or by the Passage du Gois, which only emerges at low tide. Nevertheless, Noirmoutier is an island, with all the rural charm that is displayed to such good effect. Whether cycling across the salt marshes or fishing on foot at low tide on the Passage du Gois, you are guaranteed to get away from it all! Visit the château, the Île aux Papillons (Butterfly Island), the aquarium, Océan'île, the water park or the unusual Labyrint'île, a giant maze in a cornfield!
Le Puy du Fou
